What this covers

This policy covers the website at awdalstatemovement.com and the emails we send from it. It does not cover other websites we link to, which have their own policies.

What we collect, and when

When you join our mailing list. The form asks for your email address and, optionally, your first name. Our newsletter system also records the date you signed up and the IP address you signed up from, as a record of your consent. Nothing more.

When you write to us through the contact form. We receive the name, email address, subject and message you enter. These are sent to us by email and also stored in this website’s own database so that a message is not lost if an email fails.

When you comment on an article. Comments are open on our articles. If you leave one, the website records the name, email address and website address you supply, the comment itself, and your IP address.

On every visit. Our hosting provider keeps ordinary server logs — IP address, browser, pages requested and the time of the request — as nearly every website does. We use them only to keep the site running and secure.

Spam protection, and what Google receives

Every page of this site loads Google reCAPTCHA, which distinguishes human visitors from automated ones. To do that, Google receives your IP address and information about your browser and device, and sets its own cookies. This happens on every page, not only on pages with a form. What Google does with that information is governed by Google’s own privacy policy and terms of service, not by ours.

Cookies

This site sets functional cookies only: to keep pages loading quickly, to remember which language you are reading in, and to keep you signed in if you have an account here. We run no advertising cookies and no analytics or visitor-tracking service of any kind. The reCAPTCHA cookies described above are set by Google, not by us.

Who your information reaches

• MailPoet, the newsletter system built into this site, and its sending service — they hold the mailing list and deliver our emails.
• Google, for reCAPTCHA only, as described above.
• Hostinger, our hosting provider, on whose servers this website and its database run.

That is the entire list. We do not sell, rent, trade or otherwise share your information. We do not pass it to political parties, campaigns, data brokers or advertisers.

Why supporter information gets particular care

We are a political movement, and we understand that a list of people who support us is not ordinary data. The mailing list stays inside the website’s own newsletter system rather than in shared spreadsheets or personal inboxes. Each newsletter is delivered to each subscriber individually, so no subscriber can ever see another subscriber’s address. Access to the list is limited to the site’s administrators.

How long we keep it

• Mailing list: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete you.
• Contact form messages: for as long as they are useful in answering you. Ask, and we will delete yours.
• Comments: they stay with the article unless you ask us to remove them.
• Server logs: kept by our hosting provider on their own schedule; we do not control it.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe whenever you like. Every newsletter carries a one-click unsubscribe link at the foot. It takes effect immediately.
• Ask what we hold about you, and we will tell you.
• Ask us to correct it or delete it, and we will.
• Withdraw your consent at any time. That does not undo emails already sent.

If you are reading this in the European Union or the United Kingdom, these are your rights under the GDPR, and you may also complain to your national data protection authority.

Where your information is processed

Our website, our hosting and our email delivery run on servers outside Awdal. Your information may therefore be stored and processed in countries other than your own when you use this site or receive our emails.

Children

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their details, write to us and we will delete them.

Changes to this page

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. We will announce significant changes in the newsletter as well.
